Media Center
The Herman J Russell Wed End Academy Library Media Program is designed to support the school's instructional program and promote student achievement. The media specialist collaborates with teachers in planning and implementing lessons that incorporate information literacy skills. The media specialist also assists teachers and students with integrating and utilizing technology when teaching, researching, and communicating information.
The library media program offers flexible and equitable access to a wealth of information and resources for teaching and learning, teachers' professional needs, as well as the recreational and research needs of students. The collection consists of materials that are diverse and unbiased. The library media program supports the goals of the Georgia Standards of Excellance via the implementation of the Accelerated Reader program.
Media Center Hours
The media center is open from 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday – Friday and 8:30am - 5:00pm on Wednesdays. The media center operates on a flexible schedule. Students seeking media services must have a Media Hall Pass filled out by their teacher. Teachers may send up to five students at a time for independent or guided instruction.
Media Center Rules
- No hats or hoods are allowed.
- Upon entering the Media Center, sign in at the circulation desk.
- Work quietly and do not disturb others who are working/studying.
- As in any classroom, eating, drinking, cell phone use and music are not allowed in the Media Center.

Technology Policies
• Students must have a signed Acceptable Use Policy on file before accessing the Internet.
• When using the Internet, obey the Acceptable Use Policy. Students who violate the rules will lose computer privileges.
• Computer games, e-mail, online shopping, chat lines, and non-academic websites are prohibited.
